Aim High

This year, the game is called AIM HIGH. Two alliances, one red and one blue, compete in a match in which robots from three teams per alliance attempt to score goals by shooting balls into the center or corner goals. In addition to scoring the goals, the last task is to have all three of the robots on an alliance to stand on a ramp or platform at the end of the match.

Each match is 2 minutes and 10 seconds long. A 10 second autonomous period starts off the match, followed by two 40 second periods in which only one alliance can score per period. During the last 40 second period, both alliances have the capability to score.

Our Robot

For AIM HIGH, we had originally planned on builindg a robot that would be a triple threat: a harvester, a shooter and a dumper. However, after building a shooter that was nearly 30 pounds, we realized that we would not make weight. This is what our robot looked like with our shooter on:

After taking the shooter off, our robot now looks like this:

The robot has a wheel that can spin forward or in reverse to either harvest or to dump the balls. When on offense, the robot has the capability of scoring the corner goals. When on defense, it has the ability to block and to harvest balls.
